High Court of J&K and Ladakh announces winter vacation schedule for 2026

Jammu, Dec 18 (KINS): The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has officially notified its Winter Vacation schedule for the year 2026, as per an order issued by the Registrar General.

According to the notification, the High Court will observe Winter Vacation from January 1 to January 24, 2026 (both days inclusive). The period from January 1 to January 10, 2026 has been declared as a No Work Period for the High Court. The order further states that, in terms of Rule 12 of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Rules, 1999, the Hon’ble Chief Justice has nominated Vacation Judges to hear urgent matters during the vacation period. For the Jammu Wing, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay Parihar will function as Vacation Judge from January 12 to January 17, 2026, while Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajesh Sekhri will hear urgent matters from January 19 to January 24, 2026. For the Srinagar Wing, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Shahzad Azeem has been nominated for the period January 12 to January 17, 2026, and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Mohd Yousuf Wani from January 19 to January 24, 2026.

The order has been issued with the approval of the competent authority and will govern court functioning during the winter vacation period.(KINS)
