J&K Police launch ‘Kirayedar’ online portal for tenant verification in Jammu

Jammu, Dec 20 (KINS): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday launched an online tenant verification portal, ‘Kirayedar’, to simplify and strengthen mandatory tenant reporting in Jammu.

The portal was launched by SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, who said it would improve compliance, enhance internal security and help ensure a safe and secure environment, especially in view of the large influx of people into the winter capital.

He as per news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) said Jammu witnesses significant migration of tenants, labourers and technical staff due to seasonal movement and ongoing infrastructure projects, which could be misused by anti-national elements. While tenant verification is mandatory and orders have been issued by the deputy commissioner, practical difficulties faced by landlords had hampered compliance.(KINS)
