V.K. Birdi appointed IG in CRPF on central deputation

New Delhi, June 1 (KINS): Senior IPS officer V.K. Birdi has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on central deputation.
Birdi, a 2003-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the AGMUT cadre, has been posted against an existing vacancy in the country’s largest paramilitary force, according to an official memorandum issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
The appointment marks a significant responsibility for the officer, who has served in various key positions during his career and is presently IGP Kashmir. The deputation order has been issued by the MHA as part of the routine administrative process for staffing senior positions in central armed police forces.
