Srinagar, Sep 11 (KINS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has congratulated Indian para archer Sheetal Devi on winning the gold medal in the Women’s Compound Individual Event at Stage III of the World Archery Para Series 2026, held in Ahmedabad.
The Chief Minister said Sheetal’s remarkable achievement, which also includes a bronze medal in the Compound Mixed Team Event, is a proud moment for the entire nation. He wished her continued success and greater laurels in all her future endeavours.
The 19-year-old World Champion defeated Kazakhstan’s Aizada Seidan in a dramatic shoot-off after the gold medal contest ended in a 144-144 draw. Sheetal scored a 10 with her shoot-off arrow, while Seidan managed a 9, securing the title for the Indian archer at the Sabarmati Riverfront.(KINS)
