Srinagar, Aug 27 (KINS): In preparation for the upcoming Kailash Kund Yatra, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, IPS, conducted a thorough review of the security arrangements to ensure the safety of thousands of pilgrims set to embark on the pilgrimage through the Udhampur-Doda hills.
During a high-level meeting, senior police officers, including DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Rayees Mohd. Bhat, IPS, SSP Udhampur Amod Nagpure, IPS, SSP Reasi Gaurav, IPS, Addl. SP Udhampur Sandeep Bhat, and other district police officers, joined to discuss comprehensive security measures.
ADGP Jain emphasized meticulous planning, directing all agencies to work in close coordination to tackle any challenges that may arise. He called for the deployment of additional manpower at critical points along the yatra route, the establishment of more checkpoints, and enhanced patrolling to safeguard the pilgrims, particularly in the challenging terrain.
He further reviewed provisions for medical assistance, communication, and disaster management preparedness, urging officers to ensure the availability of emergency medical teams, ambulances, and helplines. The ADGP also stressed the importance of maintaining public order, smooth traffic management, and ensuring the well-being of deployed personnel with dry rations and winter clothing.
Additionally, discussions included activating the helipad, improving medical support, and deploying Village Defence Committees (VDCs) to ensure a secure and smooth yatra for all devotees.(KINS)
