Flights resume at Srinagar Airport

Flights resume at Srinagar Airport
KINS Desk
Srinagar, Dec 29: Flight operations  resumed on Sunday at Srinagar Airport after being disrupted due to dense fog and poor visibility in the early morning.
All flights remained suspended on Saturday due to snowfall in Kashmir.
Director Srinagar Airport, Javid Anjum according to news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) said the Runway Visual Range (RVR) was satisfactory, but visibility dropped to below 400 meters, accompanied by dense milky fog in early morning. “This led to the diversion of four flights, with two being canceled for operational reasons and two returning later.”
“Despite the challenges, a total of 23 scheduled flights, including an additional Air India Express flight, are operating as planned today,” Javid said. “Although it is Sunday, the Air Force has extended operational hours until 7 PM, allowing us to manage the passenger rush effectively.”
The recent snowfall and bad weather caused significant disruptions. On December 27, seven flights were canceled, and on December 28, all 37 flights scheduled for the day were grounded.
“Passengers are advised to stay updated about their flight schedules and cooperate with the airport authorities. With improved weather conditions, we are hopeful that today’s operations will proceed smoothly,” Javid added. (KINS)
