J&K Police attaches properties of Pakistan-based terror handlers in Budgam
Budgam, July 16 (KINS): In a significant crackdown on terror networks and their support systems, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Budgam have attached three properties linked to Pakistan-based terror handlers. The properties, located in Khag, Chewa Beerwah, and Harwani Khansahib, were attached in the presence of concerned Executive Magistrates.
The action has been taken under FIR No. 58/2024 registered at Police Station Khag under Sections 7/25 of the Indian Arms Act and Sections 18, 20, 23 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), alongside proceedings initiated under Section 25 of the UAPA for attachment of properties used for terrorism.
The attached properties belong to the following individuals currently operating from across the border:
Manzoor Ahmad Chopan alias Rayees, son of Gh. Mohi-ud-din Chopan, resident of Harwani Khansahib – Double-storied residential house at Harwani Khansahib, Budgam (Khasra No. 763).
Mohammad Yousuf Malik alias Molvi, son of Ab. Rahim Malik, resident of Chewa Budgam – Double-storied residential house with 05 Kanals, 13 Marlas of land at Chewa Budgam (Khasra No. 151).
Bilal Ahmad Wani alias Umer, son of Gh. Ahmad Wani, resident of Nagbal Khag – Land measuring 19.5 Marlas at Khag (Khasra Nos. 1093 and 1094).
These individuals have been actively involved in orchestrating and facilitating terror activities in the region from Pakistan. The property attachment is part of the larger strategy to dismantle the logistical, financial, and operational infrastructure of terror outfits and their cross-border operatives.
Police reiterated its firm commitment to uphold the rule of law and warned that anyone found supporting terrorism in any form will face strict legal consequences.(KINS)
