Militancy has not ended in Jammu and Kashmir: Farooq Abdullah

KINS Desk

Srinagar, Aug 4 (KINS):National Conference president and former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Monday said militancy in Jammu and Kashmir has not ended—and will not end—until relations between India and its neighbouring country improve.

Speaking to reporters in Shopian district, Abdullah said, “Militancy has not ended. I challenge those who claim it has. It won’t end until ties with our neighbour get better.”

He was responding to questions about recent claims that militancy in the region has come to an end.

Referring to the ongoing encounter between security forces and militants in Kulgam, Abdullah questioned such claims, asking, “How can you say militancy has ended when there’s still an encounter going on?”(KINS)
