In 4 years: 2,12,968 dog bite cases reported in J&K

Srinagar, Oct 28 (KINS): At least 212,968 dog bite cases have been reported across Jammu and Kashmir between 2022 and 2025, the government informed the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.

Replying to a question raised by MLA Mubarak Gul, the Minister for Housing and Urban Development Department said that 212,968 people were bitten by dogs during the period.

The minister, according to the news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS), further informed the House that 48,998 stray dogs have been sterilised between September 2023 and 2025 as part of the Animal Birth Control (ABC) programme. (KINS)
