Jammu, Jan 06 (KINS): The BJP’s Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) wing has announced a new core team along with district convenors and co-convenors to strengthen efforts for the empowerment of the girl child across Jammu and Kashmir.

The appointments were made by Ritika Trehan, Convenor of the BBBP mission, J&K BJP, in consultation with J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma (CA) and General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul. The move covers all 17 districts of the Jammu province and aims to give fresh momentum to the BBBP programme at the grassroots level.

The newly formed core team of the BBBP department includes Ritika Trehan, Indu Puri, Sarojini Sharma and Sabha Bhat, who will look after coordination, planning and monitoring of activities in different districts.

Under the new structure, district-level teams have been set up with one convenor and multiple co-convenors in each district to ensure smooth implementation of the programme. These teams will work closely with local communities, schools, parents and other stakeholders to promote education, safety and equal opportunities for girls.

Speaking on the occasion, Ritika Trehan highlighted the social importance of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative and urged all newly appointed convenors and co-convenors to actively connect with people at the ground level.
