On second day, Union Home Secretary holds high-level meeting in Jammu, meets LG Manoj Sinha to discuss J&K security situation

Jammu, Jan 15 (KINS): Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan on Thursday continued his high-level security review meetings for the second day at the Convention Centre in Jammu, with senior officers from the Army, police, paramilitary forces and intelligence agencies taking part.

Officials told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) that the meeting reviewed border security arrangements, steps to strengthen security in the hilly areas of the Jammu region, coordination among different security agencies, and the progress of ongoing anti-terror operations. The issue of drone intrusions along the borders was also discussed.

The Home Secretary arrived in Jammu on Wednesday afternoon on a two-day visit along with a team of senior central officers and immediately chaired the high-level meeting. The meeting was attended by Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, BSF Director General Praveen Kumar, CRPF Director General G P Singh, Jammu and Kashmir DGP Nalin Prabhat, and other senior military, civil and intelligence officials.

Early in the morning, Govind Mohan also met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at the Raj Bhawan. During the meeting, they discussed the overall security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, ongoing anti-terror operations in the Kashmir Valley and the hilly areas of Jammu, and the preparedness of the joint security setup.

Officials said the discussions also focused on improving coordination among the police, Army, paramilitary forces and intelligence agencies, along with key development-related issues linked to security and stability in the Union Territory.(KINS)
