Mendhar girl tops JKBOSE class 10, scores 499 out of 500

Poonch, Apr 21(KINS): In a proud moment for Poonch district, Niyati Dutta from Mendhar has topped the JKBOSE Class 10 examinations by scoring 499 marks out of 500.
Niyati, daughter of government teacher Munish Dutta, shared the top rank with a few other students who also scored 499 marks.
Speaking about her success, Niyati said her parents and teachers played an important role. She said she learned hard work and proper planning from her father, while her mother always supported and guided her.
She also thanked her teachers from KGN Public School and her higher classes. She specially mentioned Lata Ma’am, her principal, Pallavi Ma’am and her brother Ishan for helping her in mathematics.
JKBOSE announced the Class 10 results for Jammu division with an overall pass percentage of 88.85 percent.
Girls performed better than boys in the exams. The pass percentage of girls was 90.42 percent, while boys recorded 87.51 percent.
A total of 50,754 students appeared in the examination, including 27,486 boys and 23,268 girls. Out of them, 45,094 students passed.
Niyati comes from a border area where students often face many difficulties and fewer facilities. Her achievement has brought pride to Mendhar and the whole district.
Local residents and educationists praised her success and said her achievement will inspire other students in far-off areas to work hard and achieve their goals.(KINS)
