IGP Kashmir reviews security, logistical preparedness at Baltal base camp for Amarnath Yatra 2026
Srinagar, June 04 (KINS): As part of preparations for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V.K. Birdi, accompanied by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Central Kashmir Range Rajiv Pandey and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal Sudhanshu Dhama, visited the Baltal Base Camp to review security and logistical arrangements for the annual pilgrimage.
During the visit, the officers inspected facilities established for Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel deployed for Yatra duties. They assessed the status of security infrastructure, accommodation facilities, communication networks and other essential arrangements at the base camp.
The IGP emphasized the need for close coordination among all stakeholders to ensure the safe, secure and smooth conduct of the pilgrimage. He directed concerned officers to maintain a high level of preparedness and ensure that all arrangements are completed well ahead of the commencement of the Yatra.
Reiterating the commitment of the police force, the IGP said all necessary measures are being taken to provide a secure environment and facilitate the hassle-free conduct of the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.(KINS)
