Man held for ‘sending drugs’ to frame his ex girlfriend’s husband

Srinagar August 11 (KINS): Police in Ganderbal arrested a man for allegedly attempting to frame his former girlfriend’s husband in a false drug case.
The accused, identified a resident Zainakot, Srinagar, allegedly arranged a narcotics consignment through a contact outside Jammu and Kashmir.
Police Station Safapora received information about a suspicious parcel dispatched from outside J&K and addressed to a resident of Safapora.
The parcel was intercepted at Post Office Safapora and opened in the presence of the Executive Magistrate, FSL and Crime teams, along with a sniffer dog squad.
The suspected contraband was seized and samples were sent for confirmatory analysis.
The analysis confirmed approximately 4 kg of cocaine-mixed powder, 80 grams of charas and psychotropic tablets.
Police registered an FIR under relevant sections of the NDPS Act and initiated an investigation.
Police said further investigation is underway to establish the source of the narcotics, the complete network and the involvement of other persons.
