School building allegedly turned into cowshed in Kulgam Village Issue raised with concerned Tehsildar: ZEO

Kulgam, Jan 06 (KINS): An abandoned school building in Rahpora, Khudwani, in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district has allegedly been repurposed as a cowshed, raising serious concerns among local residents.
The locals informed news agency KINS that the structure, originally built under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) scheme, has been neglected for years.
Sources revealed that it is now being used to house cattle, with numerous cows occupying the building meant for educational purposes.
Local residents have expressed their dismay over the state of the building and called for immediate intervention to restore its intended use.
When contacted, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Qaimoh, Maqbool Ahmad Wani, said he was unaware of the encroachment. “Now that the matter has been brought to my attention, immediately I have taken it up with Tehsildar Qaimoh, who has assured prompt action to ensure the cattle are removed from the school building at the earliest,” he stated.(KINS)
