Div Com Kashmir reviews new Alignments of Srinagar Ring Road Phase-III
SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 26: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg on Saturday chaired a meeting to review the proposed new alignments for various stretches of Srinagar Ring Road (SRR) Phase-III, including Lasjan–Dalgate, Dalgate–Pandach and the proposed Parimpora–Dalgate Flyover.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), SSP Traffic, Director Airport Authority of India, Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Project Director NHAI and senior officers from KPDCL, KPTCL, PHE, I&FC, PWD, Air Force and BSF.
During the meeting, the technical team of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) made a detailed presentation on the proposed new alignment for the Lasjan–Dalgate stretch. The revised alignment has been designed to bypass the Cantonment area as well as the Jhelum Bank.
After detailed deliberations, officers of the concerned departments observed that the proposed alignment was suitable and feasible for construction of the first eight kilometres of Srinagar Ring Road Phase-III.
Regarding the Dalgate–Pandach stretch, the Divisional Commissioner directed NHAI to undertake a comprehensive comparative analysis of the three proposed alignments. He directed that the analysis be submitted to the concerned departments to facilitate selection of an appropriate alignment.
The meeting also discussed the proposed Parimpora–Dalgate Flyover. Following deliberations, it was recommended that the alignment be revised to avoid affecting M.A. Road.
The Divisional Commissioner stressed the need for coordinated planning among all concerned departments to ensure that the project is executed efficiently.
