Won’t move no-confidence-motion against SMC Mayor: Ashok Koul

With rumours agog that the BJP was in process of moving a no-confidence-motion against the incumbent Mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), the party’s J&K general secretary (Org) Ashok Koul Thursday dismissed the reports.

However, he said, in case-independent corporators move a no-confidence-motion against the Mayor, the BJP will support them.

Koul said he was presently in Srinagar. However, he declined to comment whether he was in touch with corporators of the SMC. “Nobody is in my contact. BJP has four corporators and nine new people have joined us. That is all. BJP doesn’t want to dislodge anyone. What we say is if independents want to dislodge the incumbent Mayor, our 11-12 corporators will support them,”KNS quoted Koul as having said.

However, Koul said, BJP on their own will not move no-confidence-motion against the Mayor. (KNS)
