Laigaroo expresses concern over stunt biking, seeks attention of authorities

Srinagar, Jul 16: PDP youth Secretary Arif Laigaroo has expressed concern over the failing of traffic department to check stunt biking by teenagers in uptown area of Srinagar city and has sought immediate attention of authorities.

Parraypora, Baghat and Hyderpora neighborhoods of Srinagar, he said fall on the two-way road that leads to the Srinagar airport. The neighbourhoods are home to dozens of private tuition centres and two reputed schools, where thousands of young boys and girls come for instruction. Many of them ride bikes to their classes.

Laigaroo said that right from early morning, the residents of these areas face immense inconvenience due to the rowdy bikers. He said they create so many ruckus at times that it becomes unbearable.

Laigaroo has sought tough measures to stop the menace. “The authorities must take tough action against stunt bikers and confiscate their bikes whenever they catch them,” he demanded and parents of students to refrain their wards from entering into stunt biking.
