COVID-19: Kupwara records first death, J-K toll 33

Srinagar, June 02 : The death toll due to COVID-19 in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir rose to 33 , as Kashmir recorded second death on Tuesday.

An official told news agency KINS, A 27-year-old male from Lolab, Kupwara was admitted in SMHS Hospital Srinagar on 01-06-2020 with Bilateral pneumonia with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and died within an hour of Admission tested positive for SARS CoV-2 (COVID) today

With this fatality, the death toll due to the virus in J&K has gone up to 33. So far Srinagar district has the highest number of the fatalities—7 Baramulla with six, Ananthnag five, Kulgam has reported four, three from Shopian, Budgam, and Jammu have two each and one death each has been reported from Bandipora, Doda and Udhampur and now Kupwara.

Earlier this day an elderly woman from Khanpora Baramulla became victim of this deadly virus.

She died on Monday and her swab sample turned positive today a health official at GMC Baramulla confirmed to news agency KINS.
