Budgam Police arrests 03 notorious drug peddlers, contraband substances recovered


Srinagar, Oct 13 (KINS): The Jammu and Kashmir Police Tuesday said that it arrested three notorious drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession in Budgam District.
In a statement issued to news agency KINS the police said that officers at checkpoints established in the jurisdiction of PS Magam and PS Chadoora intercepted three persons identified as Amir Ahmad Ganie, Tawfeeq Ahmad Yatoo  both residents of Chadoora and Javaid Iqbal Jan resident of Isganderpora. During checking, officers were able to recover 100 grams of Charas and 12 bottles of codeine phosphate from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to respective Police Stations where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, case FIR numbers 182/2020 and 153/2020 under relevant sections of law have been registered in PS Magam and PS Chadoora respectively and investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.(KINS)
