District Admin Ramban organises seminar on benefits of NGDRS, ULPIN

RAMBAN, JULY 24 (KINS): A seminar on benefits of the National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) and Unique Land Parcel Identification Number (ULPIN) was organized by the district administration Ramban under the   nationwide “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav” celebration, here today.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Mussarat Islam presided over the seminar.

Registrar, Harbans Lal Sharma, Sub Registrar, Dherinder Sharma and local lawyers prominently participated in the seminar.

On the occasion, the awareness on the main features of NGDRS and ULPIN under the Digital India Land Record Modernisation Programme  (DILRMP) was given through Power Point Presentation.

An interactive session was also held during which the lawyers responded to the queries and doubts of the participants and the officers.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC highlighted the benefits of NGDRS in reducing land disputes, checking fraudulent transactions, SMS and email enabled alerts related to transactions on property and external system integrations. He said the digital system will improve ranking in Ease of Doing Business.

He said the intent was to ensure hassle-free service delivery and transparency in the registration process by online uploading of documents, appointment with registrars’ office, e-stamping and one-time visit to registration office.

Registrar Ramban, in his address, described ULPIN as a landmark intervention which shall ensure uniqueness in all transactions and keep the land records always up-to-date and expedite delivery of citizen services of land records through a single window, besides sharing of land records data across departments, financial institutions and all stakeholders.

Sub Registrar presented a detailed presentation on the functioning of Software of NGDRS. He shared all inputs and skills required for use of Information Technology in digital registration of properties. (KINS)
