DC Kupwara reviews arrangements for I-Day celebration

 

KUPWARA, JULY 26 ( KINS): The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din, today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements being put in place by different departments for smooth celebrations of Independence Day in Kupwara district.

 

Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir, Commandant CRPF, J D Planing, SDM Lolab and Karnah, D I O Kupwara, police officers, Officers of the Administration attended the meeting.

 

The meeting discussed threadbare various issues with regard to arrangements for smooth conduct of the National Day and officers were given assignments as per the past practice.

 

The DC said that the main function of Independence Day shall be held at District Police Lines, Kupwara, where the National Flag will be hoisted at 9 AM, followed by inspection of the parade.

 

There will be a joint march past presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRP, IRPF, Home Guard and Forest Protection Force, said the DC.

 

On the occasion, the DC impressed upon all concerned departments to work with more zeal and dedication to make the event a grand success in the district

 

It was also decided that the celebration of Independence Day shall also be held at Sub-Divisional Levels, and in this regard Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Handwara and SDM Lolab/Karnah were directed to ensure celebration of the event at their respective headquarters and shall take necessary steps in order to make the programme successful.

 

The DC directed to ensure strict compliance of COVID SOPs and maintain COVID Appropriate Behavior in letter and spirit during the celebration.

 

Earlier, the meeting discussed the arrangements including seating arrangements, availability and protocol of National Flag, contingents for parade, cultural programmes and availability of drinking water facilities besides Health Care, sanitation, electricity, transportation, and refreshment.

 

The deployment of Magistrates, preparation of certificates, distribution of cards, installation of Public Address System, coverage of the event, barricading, services of commentators and other required facilities were also discussed in the meeting and officers were directed to ensure flawless and fault free arrangements in all respects.

 

It was also given out that the next review shall be held before one week of the celebration of the Independence Day. ( KINS)
