DLSA Budgam observes National Legal Services Day

PD&SJ stresses for mass awareness among weaker sections, disabled persons about free legal services

BUDGAM, NOVEMBER 09 ( KINS): The Pr. District and Sessions Judge (PD&SJ) Budgam, Mohd Ashraf Malik today said that the women shall be respected and honoured in every part of life; her role shall be appreciated and acknowledged as homemaker not as house wife alone and that her role is pivotal in imparting humanity gesture in a society.

The PD&SJ made these remarks while addressing a function organized by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Budgam to celebrate the observance of Legal Services Day at Sheikh-ul-Alam Hall, Budgam.

He was the Chief Guest during the day long programme which was observed under the theme of ‘Women empowerment’.

The Chief Guest in his address emphasized on the role of woman in a family and society. He gave instances of various judgments of the Supreme Court of India wherein the role of woman has been discussed and appreciated.

The program was also attended by Akram ullah Tak, ADDC Budgam.

Secretary DLSA Budgam, Fozia Paul read the Preamble of the Constitution along with the audience.

Various speakers including Uzma Amin Munsiff/ JMIC Budgam, Afroza Bhat Woman Welfare Officer and Bilal Ahmad Bhat (Social Activist) threw light on the theme and empowerment of women.

Cultural program was also performed by the students of IPTS School Khansahib.

Later on certificates of appreciation were awarded by the chief guest to the participants, panel lawyers and para legal Volunteers for their work.( KINS)
