Srinagar, Feb 13 : Former chief minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president, Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday said that Governor Satya Pal Malik led administration in Jammu and Kashmir is implementing Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) agenda in the State.
Addressing a presser here at her Gupkar residence, Mehbooba said Governor is playing with fire by taking decisions against the sentiments of people.
Mehbooba was accompanied by PDP vice president Abdul Rehman Veeri, Muhammad Ashraf Mir and Khurshid Aalam.
While reacting over agitation following the divisional status given to Ladakh, Mehbooba demanded rotational headquarters for Kargil and Ladakh like Jammu and Kashmir to calm the protesters and to accommodate the aspirations of people of the region.
She said BJP is implementing its agenda through Governor led administration in the State. “We (PDP) in the coalition government foiled the attempts of BJP at certain times but now they are implementing their agenda through Governor Malik,” she said.
Mehbooba also highlighted the demands of Pir Panchal and Chenab Valley residents and said that they should also be given divisional status otherwise the people there will be forced to hit the streets.
PDP president further added that stranded passengers are facing hardships and Governor led admin must take steps in this regard. “We are thankful to Sikh community and Muslims for arranging Langer for the stranded passengers on Srinagar-Jammu highway but at the same time the Governor administration must also take steps to ensure the stranded passengers won’t suffer,” she said.
She said in coalition government, they always extended support to the stranded passengers whenever the road was closed due to the inclement weather conditions.
However, reacting over attack on stranded passengers, Mehbooba said miscreants are everywhere and people from both sides tried to communalize the situation. (KNS)
