Suspected Militants Kill 36-Year-Old Man In Pulwama

Srinagar, March 14: Suspected militants on Thursday night shot dead a civilian in Gulzarpora area of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Reports reaching said that the militants fired upon Manzoor Ahmad Lone near Higher Secondary School at Gulzarpora at around 9:50 p.m.

Lone, a resident of Dogripora village, suffered serious bullet wounds and died instantly, they said.

The body of the slain was later recovered by the joint team of police and army late in the night from the spot. It was not immediately known whether Lone, who was working in a sawmill, was kidnapped by militants before his killings.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tahir Salim also confirmed the killing. He said that the body of the 36-year-old has been taken to nearby hospital for all legal medico formalities.

Meanwhile, Army, Special Operations Group of Police and CRPF cordoned off the area and launched a hunt to nab the attackers. (GNS)
