World Press Freedom Day: Mirwaiz hails Kashmir press for ‘letting the truth prevail’

Srinagar, May 3, : Hurriyat Conference (M), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, hailed the contribution of the Jammu and Kashmir press fraternity.

He said despite the censorship, press in Kashmir have let the truth prevail, and said that censoring the media aims to censor the truth.

Taking to his Twitter handle , Mr. Farooq wrote, “Pen is mightier than the sword, On #WorldPressFreedomDay hail the contribution of free press across the globe as well as of our Jammu and Kashmir press fraternity who inspite of pulls and pressures let the truth prevail. Those who censor media aim to censor the truth.”

 Each year, May 3 is celebrated as World Press Freedom Day
