55-year-old tourist dies of cardiac arrest in Gulmarg

Srinagar, Jun 20 : A 55-year-old tourist from Pune died due to heart attack at world famous ski-resort, Gulmarg on Thursday.

Officials identified the deceased tourist as Dr. Harsh Vardhan Shah, son of Jai Kumar Shah of Bibiwadi Kondwa area of Pune.

According to correspondent, they said that the tourist has died due to heart attack on way to frozen Lake Gulmarg, adding that guide accompanying the four member family took him to G four where ECG was done to the tourist but he was declared brought dead.

Managing Director Jammu and Kashmir State Cable Car Corporation (JKSCCC), Shamim Ahmad told that an official of the corporation Fayaz Ahmad Bhat accompanied the Dr. Harsh’s family to take the body to Tangmarg hospital for necessary formalities.

He said that according to Fayaz Bhat, the family has said that they have arranged the flight to return their home while as the corporation has provided its own ambulance without any charge to the family to Srinagar to smooth passage of the bereaved family along with the dead body. (KNS)
