Ganderbal admin refutes news of lack of hygiene at Baltal base camp

 

GANDERBAL, JULY 28: District administration Ganderbal today refuted a news item carried by a local daily regarding lack of hygiene at Baltal base camp and en-route Baltal route

The admin said the route is monitored on daily basis under the supervision of Camp Director and CEO Sonamarg Development Authority.

District administration further clarified that the feedback regarding the availability of essential services and other facilities to the pilgrims at the Baltal base camp and other transit camps is shared on daily basis by the concerned officials.

It was further informed that adequate arrangements with regard to sanitation have been already put in place since the commencement of yatra. Besides sanitation drives have been carried several times in collaboration with students and civil societies.

It is pertinent to mention the district administration along with SASB is going to conduct an intensive sanitation drive from Sonamarg to Baltal base camp on 30th July in which around 600 people are participating.
