Believe in what Governor says, he is not for spreading lies: BJP National Vice President

Srinagar, Aug 4: One of BJP’s top leaders and Jammu and Kashmir incharge Avinash Rai Khanna stated that regional parties especially the National Conference and PDP are creating unnecessry hype over the prevailing situation in the state.

He said that people should have faith in Governor Satya Pal Malik, claiming he was not in Kashmir to spread lies.

In an exclusive interview with the Kashmir In-depth, Khanna urged people “not to panic”.

“It is a natural process when some inputs are there about threat, the perception is to bring the forces. The media people should have faith in the government,” he replied to a query, there was a massive troop build up in the Valley.

Asked about rumours on the abrogation of Article 35A and Article 370, trifurcation of J&K, he,  said “These are the matters of future. What the government has to decide is for the betterment of state and the country.”

Khanna said media can play a good role to remove the panic from the mind of the people and make people believe on version of Governor as “he is not here to tell lies”.
According to the BJP leader, there are some people in Kashmir who are creating hype by meeting the Governor and holding meetings.

“They should accept the advice of the Governor and not create panic. As leaders they should reduce the panic rather they are increasing the panic. It is a time to act responsibility.”
He claimed some vested interests were taking undue advantage of the situation.

Asked how the scenario in Jammu and Kashmir has changed for last five years of BJP’s governance he said, “As a political party our priority is to bring the peace and development in Kashmir. We are trying to expand the party to youth level. The membership is going on and people are showing interest to become members of BJP.”

He believes, “As a party we are strong here.” For him “the faith of people has increased on BJP”.

“The Hurriyat, separatist have been exposed as their families are enjoying in foreign countries, their children are studying abroad . The action taken by NIA has uncovered how they were misguiding people in Kashmir.”
