Education Alert: Amid zero student attendance;J&K Admin‘adamant’ to hold exams on time

 

 

Srinagar, Oct 03 :As majority of schools across Kashmir continue to witness almost zero per cent student attendance, the state administration is adamant to hold the annual JK Board of school examination on scheduled time. The private as well as government run educational institutions have started holding internal practical examination of students thereby preparing ground for the timely annual exams across the region.

The private schools are informing their students through newspaper advertisements about the schedule of holding internal exams while as the government school students are informed by the concerned teachers or zonal authorities.

“On Thursday, students in most of the schools were appearing in internal exams and in some government schools the students of higher secondary classes were given assignments for the internal practical  exams,” a top official in school education department told.

He said the department has informed all the private schools to complete the internal practical exams of class 10th to 12th students to complete the conduct of internal exams.

“The department is adamant to hold annual regular exams of class 10th and 12th students from last or third week of November for which the schools need to complete internal practical exams,” the official said.

Recently, the divisional administration stated that the higher secondary schools will reopen from Thursday and in most of the schools- private and government schools, students were seen appearing internal exams.

“Students have already remained away from their classes from past 50 days. We don’t want them to suffer more. The internal exams will be completed in a time bound manner in all schools,” Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) Muhammad Younis Malik told.

Already, the JKSBOSE has decided to hold annual class 10th and 12th exam in 3rd week of October while as exam for class 11th is likely to start from 2nd week of November.

“The chairperson BOSE will convene a meeting this week to finalize the dates and date sheet will be notified accordingly,” a BOSE official said.

He said the exercise for paper setting and evaluation has already been started by BOSE. “We have informed the directorate to provide manpower for evaluation which will start in last week of this month and will continue till November,” the official said.
