Weather improves in Jammu and Kashmir

People heaved a sigh of relief following improvement in the weather conditions and temperatures across the Jammu and Kashmir after two days of widespread rain and heavy snowfall.
Bright sunshine was seen in the Jammu and Kashmir after incessant rains and snowfall since Sunday and the Met said it will stay better for the next 48 hour.

Srinagar, the summer capital of the state recorded a low of minus 2.7 while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of minus 1.2 degrees Celsius.

Kupwara town in north Kashmir recorded minus 2.1 while Kokernag town in south Kashmir recorded minus 3.1.

The ski resort Gulmarg was at minus 9.5 and tourist destination Pahalgam was at minus 7.6. Leh town in Ladakh was at minus 5.5.

Jammu city was at 5.5, Katra 5.6, Batote minus 0.9, while Bannihal recorded 0.6 and Bhaderwah recorded minus 0.5 degrees Celsius.
