Soldier injured as India, Pak trade fire in Gurez

Bandipur : An Army soldier was injured as Indian and Pakistan Army on Sunday engaged in heavy exchange of fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Paanth Post in Aazmerg in Gurez sector of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

An Army official told Kashmir Indepth that suspicious movement was observed by the Army along LoC in Paanth Post Aazmerg sector of Gurez.

As the suspicious movement was challenged by own troops, initially it was retaliated by fire and then a heavy explosion took place followed by heavy firing from Pakistan in which one soldier was injured official added.

The injured soldier was identified as Head constable Sandeep Yadev and was rushed to nearby military hospital for treatment.
