19 militants slain so far this year: DGP

Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh on Wednesday said that so far in this 2020 year 19 militants have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir region.

DGP while addressing media on Wednesday over Tral gunfight in which three militants were killed, said that so far this year 2020, a total of ten operations have been conducted across Jammu and Kashmir. He said two operations have been taken place in Jammu, while eight have been successfully conducted in Kashmir and a total of 19 militants have been killed so far which is a big success.

Director-General of Police Dilbagh Singh while briefing media about Tral gunfight said three militants were killed there and in which one of militant Jehangeer was commander of Hizbul Mujahideen militant outfit and was involved in 8 big terror activities which had resulted in a fearful environment in the region.

DGP while sharing other details of Tral gunfight said two other associates of slain Jehanger have been identified as Raja Umer of Lugam of Hizb militant outfit while another was identified as Sadat Thoker son of Farooq Ahmed Thoker of Waghama Bijbhera Ananthnag who had joined ranks post-August 05 and was affiliated with Ansar Gazwat ul Hind.

DGP said that a huge cache of ammunition was recovered from the slain militants.
