YOUTH OF BUDGAM AND SHOPIAN
Srinagar, 23 Feb 2020. A Kickboxing Championship was conducted under the aegis of Balapur Military Garrison. The event was aimed at promoting sports amongst the youth of the District of Budgam and Shopian and turned out to be a grand success with the open hearted participation of a number of players.
The finals of Martial Arts Championship was conducted at Mini Secretariat, Shopian on 18 Feb 2020. The event was attended by many civil and Police dignitaries to include DC Mr Yasin Chowdhary and Mr Amrit Pal Singh, SSP Shopian. Trophies and medals were distributed to the players of Shopian and Budgam. Chief guest expressed his appreciation and said that such events provide a wonderful platform to the youth of the region to hone and showcase they sporting skills. He also added that such initiatives should continue to be organised frequently so as guide our youth in a progressive direction and ultimately contribute positively in upliftment and progression of the society as a whole. In addition to sports, prizes were awarded to youth excelling in various other fields also.
