Dr Jatinder Singh’s Book release function held at JU

Jammu, February 28: Jammu Kashmir Rashtriya Bhasha Prachar Smiti in collaboration with Akhil Bhartiya Hindi Bhasha Parishad (Gujrat) today organized a book release function at Gian Chand Hall of Jammu University.

Dogri Book “Khamoshi” which is translated by Dr Jatinder Singh from Gujrati was released by the Chief Guest Vice Chancellor Manoj K Dhar, Guest of Honor Prof Shiv Dev Singh Manhas, Author of the original book Dinesh Desai and Editor Dr Kanhaiya Lal Bhatt on the occasion.

While addressing the gathering, the Vice Chancellor said that we must encourage such upcoming writers so as to provide an avenue for them. He said that stories inspired from society proved to be a tool for giving vent of a depressed entity caught in the web of socio-political suppression.

Prof SD Manhas, while speaking on the occasion, praised the efforts of the writer and said the stories were really heart touching.

Author of the original book Dinesh Desai also lauded the efforts of Dr Jatinder Singh and wished him more success in future.

A large number of writers, critics and students graced the function besides programme was conducted by Radha Sharma and vote of thanks was presented by Dr BB Sharma.
