Body of Covid-19 suspect lying in hospital

‘Want to ensure he is Covid free and doesn’t need burial under protocol: Dr Naveed

A suspect for Covid-19 died in a Srinagar hospital today. Doctors said that the sample of the body has been taken to ascertain the facts.
 
Sources told that a man from North Kashmir’s Baramulla district was admitted at CD Hospital a couple of days ago and today he passed away in the hospital. The man was very sick but his test was found negative.

  “He was really very sick but when we tested him for Covid-19, it turned out to be negative. Before, reconfirmation test, he died today. Now, his body is lying in the hospital and we have taken his samples and the test report is awaited,” renowned Pulmonologist and HoD, Chest Disease Hospital Dr Naveed Nazir told.
 
He said body will be handed over to family only after they receive the report. “If his report turns out to be positive, he will be buried as per protocol laid for Covid-19 patients.
 
Pertinently, a couple of days ago, an elderly man from Pattan town died at SMHS Hospital. Authorities handed over the body to family only after performing a Covid-19 test that was found negative. (KNT)
