Police officer injured during clashes over Naikoo’s killing in Budgam

Srinagar: An officer of Jammu and Kashmir police was injured during clashes in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

According to a report by Deputy Superintendent of Police Fayaz Hussain sustained head injury during stone-throwing by locals at Nasrullahpora locality in Budgam district, the officials said.

The locals threw stones to protest the killing of Naikoo and his associate during a gunfight with government forces in the Awantipora area of Pulwama district on Wednesday.

Police used batons and tear smoke shells to chase away the protesters, the officials said, adding there were no reports of any injuries among the protesters so far.
