Anantnag Forest Division starts massive drive against timber smugglers

Many structures demolished, Band Saw mill seized too, DFO Anantnag warns smugglers for strict action


Srinagar, May 19 (KINS) :The Anantnag Forest Division Tuesday started a massive eviction and demolished many illegal structures besides seizing a band saw mill.


Official sources told news agency KINS that an eviction drive was launched by the DFO Anantnag Forest division Feroz Ahmed Chaker in association with Range officer Kuthar, Harnag, Qazigund and FCR Anantnag along with other field functionaries in compartment 85/K, 99/K where some structures were demolished while as a Band Saw mill was also seized at village Boozgam.


“All field functionaries have been directed to stretch every nerve and protect National wealth from timber smugglers and land grabbers,” the DFO said. In his message he told all land, grabbers and timber smugglers to refrain from such activities otherwise offenders shall be dealt with strong hands.(KINS)
