South Kashmir: Gunfight breaks out in Kulgam

Srinagar, May 25:Gunfight breaks out between militants and goverment forces in Khur Hanjipora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday.

Reports reaching said that a joint team of Police, army’s 34 RR and CRPF launched cordon search operation in Hanjipora.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter.

A senior police officer also confirmed to news agency about the exchange of firing between forces and militants. As per the sources two to three militants believed to be trapped.

Till this report was being filed intermittent firing was going on.(GNS)
