Srinagar, June 1 (KINS): Municipal Committee Watergam is risking lives of common masses as sewage coming out from quarantine centre is thrown on the road.

At least 11 residents of Watergam tested positive were kept in same quarantine centre (Trauma Hospital Watergam).

Locals told news agency KINS that two bakers who tested positive two days before Eid were shifted to covid hospital Sopore and their primary contacts were kept in Trauma Hospital Watergam in which nine more tested positive.

“Our Municipal Committee doesn’t bothered to sanitise the area till date .No fumigation has been done to the bakery points and their surroundings. They often risk our lives by throwing the waste coming out from quarantine center on roads and dumping it in open area connecting to Watergam,” the locals said.

Executive Officer Municipal Committee Watergam Mushtaq Ahmad said, “I have given strict orders not to throw the waste coming out of quarantine centre on road still I will look into the matter.”(KINS)
