Black bear captured in Uri

Srinagar, June 15(KINS): A black bear was captured in the border town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla on Monday.

Reports reaching news agency KINS said a black bear was captured by locals at Rather Mohalla Ijara in the Uri sector on Monday and later handed over to the wildlife department.

Reports said one more wild bear is active from the area and had caused severe damage to the standing crops and livestock.

An official at the wildlife department also confirmed to news agency and said after getting information a team was sent to the area, he said the bear would be released in the higher reaches of the district. (KINS)
