Kashmir records fresh COVID-19 death, J-K toll rises to 77

Srinagar, June 20: Kashmir on Saturday morning witnessed another COVID-19 related death, taking the fatality count due to the virus in J&K to 77.

Medical Superintendent of SKIMS Professor Farooq Jan told news agency KINS A 55 year old woman from Tujan Pulwama was referred from SMHS as a case of meningioma with obstructive sleep apnea died this morning.

The overall death toll due to this deadly virus in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir stands now 77. Nine from Jammu and 68 from the Valley. Srinagar district with 19 deaths has the highest fatalities followed by Baramulla 13, Shopian (10), Kulgam (8) six each in Anantnag and Jammu, Kupwara (five), Budgam (three ), Pulwama (three) while one death each has been reported from Bandipora, Doda, Udhampur and Rajouri.(KINS)
