Srinagar, June 26(KINS): Three militants were killed in a gunfight at Chewa Ullar area of Tral in Awantipora of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Srinagar based defense spokesperson in a statement issued to news agency KINS said Op Chewa (Pulwama). Operation update. 01 more militant killed (Total 03 militants killed).
A police officer also confirmed to KINS about the killing of three militants in the gunfight and said the identity of the slain militants was yet to be ascertained.
Pertinently, a joint team of Army’s 42 RR, Police and 180 BN of CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Chewa Ullar on Thursday evening.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.(KINS)
