51 persons test positive in Rajouri, admin decides to re-impose lockdown

Rajouri, July 10 : At least 51 persons were on Friday tested positive for COVID-19 in Rajouri district, officials said. The district administration, however, has decided to re-impose lockdown in the district from Saturday.

Sources told the news agency—fresh cases of Coronavirus were reported in the district on Friday while 36 among them have no travel history.

Of these 36, 16 are from a Draj village where 20 people have already been tested positive.

“11 others are from Rajouri town and nine of them were contacts of an earlier positive case and two were sampled in random sampling mechanism,” they said, adding two among them are from Panja Jawahar Nagar area, one from Chapriyan, one from Kheora, three from Nabban Mohalla of town and three from Nagesh bridge locality near Oshodhara Aashram of town.

Besides, one woman is from Kalakote, a man from Palma and a teenage boy is from Muradpur.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajouri, Nazir Ahmed Sheikh said that entire Rajouri town shall remain under lockdown from Saturday morning onwards and strict restrictions shall remain in place—(KNO)
