Anantnag, July 15(KINS): Municipal Committee Achabal has been dumping garbage on Anantnag Kokernag Road, bringing inconveniences to the people.
The garbage is being dumped at Anantnag Kokernag road in Kulgad village.
Locals told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service that the Municipal Committee after collecting garbage from different areas in Achabal throws on road at Kulgad.
“Dumping garbage on the road is causing a lot of problems to residents,” they said.
“Bad smell is emanating from the site and could prove hazardous for locals. Street dogs are roaming there and posing a threat to people,” a local said.
“We fear safety for our children as street dogs are roaming freely. Our children fear to go from that side,” he said.
Executive Officer Achabal told KINS, “We have already identified a land of six kanals for garbage dumping which is under construction. Construction will be complete in 15 days after that it will be made operationalized.”
