Amid COVID-19 Threat, Special Mechanism Formulated for Smooth Eid Celebration: DC B’la

Baramulla, July 24: With an aim to celebrate the forthcoming festival of Eid smoothing viz-a-viz COVID-19 threat, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo today said that a special mechanism has been formulated in this regard wherein different aspects ranging from public health to Eid celebration shall be given due consideration.

DC made these remarks during a review meeting chaired by him in his office chamber to discuss various arrangements and measures in this regard.

Meeting was attended by Additional SP Baramulla, President MCB ,heads of various line departments, Assistant Director FCS&CA, EO MC B’la, representatives of Beopar Mandal Baramulla, Auqaf Islamia Baramulla and Auqaf Islamia Khanpora, and other concerned officers/officials.

On the occasion, a detailed discussion on the subject was held during which DC stressed for making extra ordinary arrangements during present circumstances emerged due to COVID-19 outbreak so that public health is not compromised. He exhorted upon the concerned officers to work in coordination and cohesion for implementing all the SOPs and guidelines in letter and spirit.

Meanwhile, DC said that a special mechanism shall be devised after 27th of July so that people can purchase the essential items in a hassle free manner. He urged the people not to be panic as district administration has facilitated sufficient stock of essential commodities including rice, atta, LPG etc. He also urged to celebrate this eid with simplicity and austerity for the larget public interest.

The meeting was informed that departments of Sheep and Animal Husbandry have procured 24000 sacrificing animals that shall be available at deaignated spots across the district. It was also informed that 3.15 lakh poultry birds have been facilitated against the requirement of 2.5 lakh poultry birds in the district. The meeting was also briefed that special magistrates and flying squads shall be deployed at several spots and locations who shall monitor the implementation of SOPs and guidelines to avert any kind of exigency.

Furthermore, the DC directed the MC authorities to fumigate all the Shrines/Masjids/Dargahs although no congregational prayer shall be allowed. DC also appealed the people to cooperate with the administration at this critical juncture so that their lives are safeguarded.

[10/20, 6:19 PM] +91 88250 48183: Director JKEDI inaugurates a 10-Day EDP at Centre for Women Entrepreneurship, Kupwara SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 20: The Director JKEDI, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat today inaugurated a 10-Day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) at the Centre for Women Entrepreneurship, JKEDI. Another programme was also e-inaugurated in Kupwara district. The scheme is a special endeavour of Mission Youth, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, aimed at providing financial assistance to young women for setting up gainful self-employment ventures suited to their skills, training, aptitude and local conditions. It will empower and encourage women to set up income-generating units through manufacturing, services or trading activities. The candidates will undergo a 10-Day training programme with a focus on self-development, basic business skills, business and marketing plan formulation, account management, sector-specific technical inputs and will be apprised of all the formalities involved in setting up an enterprise. The aim of the programme is to help the candidates to be self-reliant and facilitate their capacity building. Director, JKEDI, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat stressed upon the need for inclusive growth through women empowerment and inclusion of tribal, backward and border population in nation building as is envisaged by the UT Administration. The candidates also requested the Director for enhancement of project cost as it will enhance the project viability. The Director assured all possible help under the norms of the scheme. Upon successful completion of the training program, these registered female candidates will receive assistance in establishing or expanding an existing business. The project report will also have provisions for the acquisition of fixed assets (Plant & Machinery, equipment, furniture & fixtures) to meet working capital needs for the purchases of various products, equipment and tools. The trained female candidates shall also be facilitated to avail of financial assistance to the extent of Rs 5.00 lakh. Through this initiative, women will be able to improve their socio-economic status and become more involved in nation-building. [10/20, 8:06 PM] +91 88250 48183: DC Bla chairs DLSCC meeting; 13 cases cleared for Compensation BARAMULLA, OCTOBER 20: A meeting of District Level Screening cum Committee (DLSCC) was today held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar. On the occasion, 15 cases of different nature came up under discussion in which 13 cases were cleared for relief and compensation. During the screening of cases, nine cases were also cleared for appointment under SRO 43. The eligibility including qualification of the applicants was also taken into account while deciding the cases for appointment. Moreover one death case was cleared by the committee for which Rs 1 lac was approved while as two cases pertaining to property damage were also cleared among which Rs 14 lacs were sanctioned. It was also given out that one missing case was declared as presumed dead by DLSCC. The meeting screened the cases as per the guidelines and reverification of some cases was also sought for further screening of these cases. The newly constructed residential accommodation is 2 BHK and has other facilities for comfortable stay of Judicial Officers. On the occasion, Chief Justice also reviewed progress on ongoing projects including fencing of Court Complex, land acquisition, construction of lawyers chamber, washroom facility and matters related to construction of new Court Complex at Chadoora. Chief Justice directed the concerned execution agency to expedite work on the new Court Complex and ensure timely completion of all the projects. He said that all facilities shall be made available at the Court Complex Chadoora including separate washroom facility for female staff and lawyers and works including road development and lawn beautification be taken up on priority. He said that there is major chunk of land available and asserted on its proper use. He said a beautiful Court Complex should come up at the earliest as the need of the hour. Chief Justice directed the concerned authority to ensure speedy work execution on all projects. He called for prompt Justice delivery and making work culture at courts conducive and efficient for the litigants. Speaking on the occasion, Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul said that all genuine issues raised by the Bar members shall be looked into on priority for an early redressal. District and Sessions Judge Budgam, Mohammad Ashraf Malik presented welcome address on the occasion.
