Kupwara,August 28: Eleven shops were guttered in a devastating fire at the busy market at the Awoora area of north Kashmir’’s Kupwara district on Thursday night.
According to reports goods worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the blaze, while no casualties were reported in the accident, which took place at Manwan Awoora area of Kupwara.
A police officer told KINS that fire was under control after teams of fire service, police were pressed into service. He said the exact figure of loss is being assertained.
The officer said short circuit is said to be the cause of fire.
