Forest Department Observes National Forest Martyrs Day


Srinagar, Sep 11 (KINS): Jammu and Kashmir Forest Department today observed National Forest Martyrs Day in the remembrance of the Green Warriors who laid their lives for the protection of Forests and Wildlife in Jammu and Kashmir, here at Bachan Depot.


Chief Wildlife Warden J&K, Suresh  Kumar Gupta, was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
The Chief Guest remembered and lauded the supreme sacrifices made by the Forest Martyrs in the protection of Forests and Wildlife in Jammu and Kashmir and congratulated the Forest Department for the proposed Forest Martyrs Memorial at Bachan Depot in Jammu and Zaberwan in Kashmir.


On the occasion, the Chief Guest also released the book “Green Hearts -Protecting Forests and Wildlife” which is a compilation of the supreme sacrifices made by the green warriors in Jammu and Kashmir, published by the Forest Department.


K. Ramesh Kumar, Chief Conservator of Forests Jammu thanked the chief guest, officers and staff of the Forest Department present on the occasion.(KINS)
