Srinagar, Nov 29 (KINS): The Bhartiya Janta party Sunday said that the large participation of people in the first phase of District Development Council (DDC) elections proved that Kashmiri people want “Pakistan and its spy agency ISI” to end peace disruption efforts in valley.
“Kashmiri people are now concerned about the development and have rejected the path of violence. The voting turnover of the first phase of the DDC election is the clear sign that the Kashmiri people are against the Pakistani sponsored militancy,” BJP general secretary and the party”s in-charge for Kashmir, Vibodh Gupta told news agency KINS.
He said that BJP is contesting elections on all the seats and the party believes that they have won 8 to 10 seats in the first phase.
He said that BJP will win the majority of the seats and the party’s workers will ensure that “divisive” forces are taught a good lesson in these elections.
“People are participating in these elections for development and to defeat Pakistan in their evil agendas,” he claimed.
“We hope that people will give befitting reply to the Gupkar gang who has always tried to befool the people for their selfish ends,” Gupta said.
The Gupkar alliance is a conglomerate of seven mainstream political parties of Jammu and Kashmir and its constituents, including the National Conference and the PDP, are contesting the DDC polls unitedly.
Viboth Gupta accused the National Conference, the PDP and the Congress of promoting “secessionism and separatism” in the region.
“After 70 years, Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a time when there is ground work on development and empowerment of every common person,” he said.
He alleged that Gupkar alliance intends to “resist peace and progress while promoting chaos in the Valley”.(KINS)
