Road Safety Month: DC Sgr inaugurates Seminar


SRINAGAR, JANUARY 23: As part of ongoing Road Safety Month, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today inaugurated a Seminar here organised by Traffic Police, Srinagar.
The seminar was organised to debate issues faced by various stakeholders while ensuring road safety and finding out ways and means to counter them.
Renowned religious scholar, Mufti Nazir Ahmad was the Special Guest on the occasion, while Director Social Welfare, SSP Traffic City, Addl. Commissioner, Dr Kangoo (B&J Hospital), Cultural Officer (CO) Education Department were among other speakers present at the event.
The DC Srinagar on the occasion made an appeal to road users to adhere to the traffic laws for their own safety and for the safety of others.
Mufti Nazir Ahmad delivered a detailed talk on use of roads and following traffic rules in light of Ahadith.
SSP Traffic City in his welcome address highlighted the socio economic issues including hospitalization woes connected to road accidents and appealed to all stakeholders to play their role.
